Tools: 3

UK Register of Overseas Entities MCP — who beneficially owns, or manages, a non-UK company that is required to register with the UK’s statutory company register.

Tools

  • search_overseas_entities(query) — name search restricted to registered overseas entities (ordinary UK companies with a similar name are excluded).
  • get_overseas_entity(company_number) — profile by OE number ("OE" + 6 digits) or by registered name. Refuses with a clear error if the resolved company is an ordinary UK company rather than a registered overseas entity.
  • get_beneficial_owners(company_number) — the entity’s registered beneficial owners (individual, corporate, legal-person or government/public-authority) or, when none is identifiable, its managing officers instead — the statutory fallback. Both lists are returned with counts; most entities populate only one.

company_number on every tool also accepts the entity’s registered NAME, resolved automatically.

Auth

Platform-keyed — the SAME credential companies-house and exec-changes already use (no new key was minted for this pack). A caller may still pass their own key with ?_apiKey=<key> (register a free one at https://developer.company-information.service.gov.uk).

Data source

UK Companies House, Register of Overseas Entities — a non-UK company that owns or wants to deal in UK land must register here and disclose its beneficial owners (or managing officers, if it has none it can identify). It is the same statutory register companies-house already serves, reached through the SAME endpoints: a registered overseas entity carries an OE-prefixed company number, and its profile, beneficial-owner and managing-officer records are company-profile, persons-with-significant- control and officer records like any other Companies House entry.

Not included

HM Land Registry’s “Overseas companies that own property in England and Wales” dataset — the specific UK property title(s) linked to an overseas entity — is not served here. That dataset is published only through HM Land Registry’s own data portal, which requires creating an account to access (an authentication wall, not a bulk-file-only source): see the header of src/index.ts for what was checked and when. If that account exists, the property-title link is the natural next tool to add to this pack.

Tools

  • search_overseas_entities — Search the UK Register of Overseas Entities by name (Companies House, OE-prefixed company numbers).
  • get_overseas_entity — Fetch a single UK Register of Overseas Entities profile by OE company number (format “OE” + 6 digits, e.g. “OE012345”) or by registered name.
  • get_beneficial_owners — Fetch the UK Register of Overseas Entities disclosure for one entity (OE company number or registered name): who beneficially owns or controls it.
