uiuc_airfoil_geometry
Pack: uiuc-airfoils · Connect: https://pipeworx.io/mcp (see Connect below for a single-pack URL)
No MCP client? Call it directly: GET https://gateway.pipeworx.io/v1/tools/uiuc_airfoil_geometry for the schema, then POST the same URL with its arguments for the data.
Fetch one airfoil’s coordinate file live from the UIUC Airfoil Coordinates Database (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Applied Aerodynamics Group) and compute its geometry: point count, max thickness and max camber (each as a fraction of chord, with the chordwise location they occur at), derived from the raw (x,y) coordinates. Pass the airfoil’s name as listed by uiuc_airfoil_search (e.g. “naca2412”, “e58”, “s1223”).
Parameters
| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
name | string | yes | Airfoil name, e.g. “naca2412” or “s1223” |
include_coordinates | boolean | no | Include the full raw (x,y) point list in the response (default false — only the summary geometry) |
