No MCP client? Call it directly: GET https://gateway.pipeworx.io/v1/tools/nm_statute for the schema, then POST the same URL with its arguments for the data.

Get the FULL TEXT of a section of the New Mexico Statutes Annotated 1978 (NMSA 1978) by citation, e.g. “30-2-1” (Murder) or “40-4-1” (grounds for divorce). Accepts “30-2-1”, “NMSA 1978, § 30-2-1”, or ”§ 30-2-1”. Returns the current statutory text, its official catchline, chapter name, and legislative “History:” line. New Mexico publishes each CHAPTER as one PDF rather than per-section, so a bare citation (no chapter name) resolves via a baked chapter index — most chapters are covered; an uncovered one reports chapter_not_baked rather than a false no-match. Keyless. Use for “what does NMSA 30-2-1 say” or to check a New Mexico statute a case or contract relies on.

Parameters

NameTypeRequiredDescription
citationstringyesSection citation as chapter-article-section, e.g. “30-2-1” (murder) or “40-4-1” (divorce). A lettered chapter keeps its letter, e.g. “59A-1-1” (Insurance Code) or “32A-4-1” (Children’s Code).
