Official US Employment Projections by occupation (SOC code): projected 10-year employment growth (number and percent), annual average job openings, current employment, median annual wage, and typical entry education, experience and training, from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Employment Projections program. Look up an occupation by SOC code (“15-1252”) or title words (“software developers”), or rank all detailed occupations by growth, openings or wage. Answers “projected growth for registered nurses”, “which occupations have the most annual openings”, “fastest growing jobs”. Employment and openings are in thousands. Always reports the projection vintage (base and target year) of the latest release.
Parameters
| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
soc_code | string | no | SOC code, e.g. “15-1252” (detailed), “15-1200” or “15-0000” (summary/major group). |
query | string | no | Words from the occupation title, e.g. “nurse practitioners”. Matches every word. |
rank_by | string | no | Instead of a lookup, rank detailed occupations by this measure, highest first (default listing when neither soc_code nor query is given: openings). |
direction | string | no | With rank_by or a query list: highest (default) or lowest first, e.g. fastest declining. |
min_employment_thousands | number | no | For rankings: ignore occupations employing fewer than this many thousand workers (default 0). |
